What does it mean when just your toes trun bright red and hot?

I'm not really sure. It may be some sort of inflammation, infection or circulatory problems. How about calling your doctor and letting him or her (or the answering service) know about your toes that are hot and bright red and seeing what your physician suggests. Wishing you the best.

You didn't say if you had any other health problems,but if you are a diabetic you can experiance circulartory problems with your feet and legs.The other is you could have a blood clot,but in both feet is highly unlikely. This also could be afletes foot but that is always accompanied by severe itching between your toes.I would definatly see a doctor if you continue to have these symptoms,as no one can correctly diagnose you on yahoo as were not all MDs.GOOD LUCK!

it is probably a cluster headache. i get them too. i get them every year or two. the cycles last for 3-6 weeks...and the pain is unbearable. do a search on cluster headaches. there are a lot of pages devoted to them.
oh my gosh, i get those all the time...when i'm reading for a long time or watching tv, or staring at the computer screen. i'm pretty sure it's just a headache.but im curious to see these answers

It means you have a headache behind your eye.
If you really mean PAIN behind the eye, some of the conditions that can cause pain in and around the eye and that aren't associated with trauma are problems with the eye itself, contact lens complications, migraine, conjunctivitis or any inflammation of the eyelids, eyestrain, narrow angle glaucoma and sinus problems.
If the pain you experience is frequent and/or debilitating, see your doctor or optometrist. If you require a referral to an ophthalmologist, you'll get one.
When that happens to me, it is because I have a "sensitivity" to temperature changes (not enough thyroxin for my body to adjust). If I become "hypersensitive" because I have experienced too much heat/cold, and then eat, due to calories in food I get pain as you described. If the weather changes and gets warmer/colder and I don't eat, the pain doesn't happen. Food seems to be the trigger, especially high calorie food, but it can also happen from overheating/overcooling to an extreme due to some other means like clothing over warm or not enough clothing on to stay warm. The immune system is the attacker that causes the pain. Hope this answer, if it applies, does help.

like in a rehab or mental institution? it means you watch over the patients, take note of requests, questions, concerns and so on and look out for there safety and following of DR orders as well as any rules of other sorts. you then often report back to a treatment team or dr with your notes and observations.
To advocate for a person is to speak and directly secure help for a person. This SHOULD only be done when the person has exhusted their sitaution - tried all the places, talked to people, and done their best. Otherwise it leads to being dependent.
To be the voice for the patient to ask questions and communicate concerns with drs, etc in the best interest of the patient. When women come in sick and the dr gives them a Rx antibiotic, I ask the dr in front of the pt if they (the dr) wants the pt to call if they develop yeast infection symptoms or come in to be seen. This question is something that the pt may not normally think of, but is important for them to know so that they know they dont have to suffer or come in for an appt. just for a yeast infection. Sometimes drs forget to offer women pts this; the drs want them to know this, but sometimes forget. By asking on behalf of pt, is to advocate for the pt.
It basically means that you speak on the patients behalf and really look after them. Sometimes a patient is medicated and not coherent enough to make sound choices.
A patient advocate can help with these types of situations.
Example, we as parents must remain in the picture and be aware of all that is going on in regards to our childrens hospital car. I personally have a series of well meaning, supposedely educated staff treating my children for various things, I have seen them make some serious mistakes too, had I not been there to alert them to their errors, it scares me to think of the consequences. Don't be shy about being an advocate, especially where our children, parents and partner are at stack.

It means you are jaundice. Your liver is not functioning properly and you have an elevation in the liver enzyme bilirubin. This can be caused by Hepatitis or alcoholism, but check with your physician.
It means you need to go to your GP and ask for a liver function test. ( It involves a sample of blood being taken and analysed). Take it from there and see how you go. Good luck.

What does it mean for Children to have high levels of protein in their urine?
My 12 year old son had to go to the dr. to be retest on his adhd. and they done a urine test and blood work. they called me and told me that he had a very high level of protein in his urine and that I was to come by and pick up another urine cup and collect some urine from him frist thing in the morning before he gets out of bed and bring it back to them as soon as possible. So they could do some test on it. If anyway possible I would like to know what to expect out of this so any answers I can get at this point will be wounderful. thank to you all for the answers.

I digress. I'm assuming he's on some sort of medication, I can't find anything that shows that it would increase total serum protein. It depends on how high its elevated, and I'd be wary of looking to much into it... it could be severe or it could be nothing, I'd rather not explain it, and let the pcp recheck after a week or so.
My guess is its a fluke, but your pcp is just being safe.
In children, protein in the urine is usually nothing. But, of course, your doctor wants to be sure, and he's absolutely doing the right thing to check further.
Sometimes, it can be a kidney disorder, a reaction to medication, an infection or injury, etc. (Proteinuria has a lot of causes.)
Wait until the tests come back, and the doctor will be able to tell you whether it's something to worry about, but it's probably not.
