What do the numbers on the side of a ct machine mean?

Answer:
It depends on what numbers you are looking at - there are several sets of digits.

The LCD numbers on the side of the CT machine show the location of the couch. The numbers will change when the tech raises, lowers, and moves the couch in and out of the gantry. The gantry is the large doughnut looking thing that holds the x-ray tube, generator, etc.

The LCD number could be the tilt of the gantry. When you get a CT of certain body part (like the head), the gantry must be tilted to get a useable picture.

Finally, if it's associated with the vendor (e.g., Seimens, etc.), then it could be the model number.
